A flash new playground has been unveiled on Parliament's grounds, amid growing calls for the government to take more action to help lift kiwi kids out of poverty.
The Prime Minister and the Speaker cut the ribbon on the half a million dollar playground on Wednesday morning.
They were joined by child welfare groups for the occasion, who were quick to note a lack of action from the government in implementing recommendations from its own welfare advisory group.
Hamish Cardwell and videographer Dom Thomas went to Parliament in Wellington and filed this report.
