If you are not interested in seeing more cherry blossoms, this week, then this vlog is definitely not for you! I had to stop myself from filming anymore cherry blossoms this week. Spring is in full bloom here in Victoria, BC. We start our week with a walk through downtown Victoria. I show you some gorgeous mandalas we have painted on our crosswalks.
I got some new art supplies this week for sketching when we are away in Ucluelet next week. I wanted my art set up to be much simpler when we travelled. I also plan on sketching yoga poses to deepen my understanding of anatomy.
We went to Dan’s farm and I show you some fresh daffodils that we got from a roadside stand. A lot of you are interested in what we eat, so this week’s vlog includes a farm haul with all our fresh fruits and veggies. Spring vegetables are out with spinach, broccoli, spring greens, carrots, and savoy cabbage.
We found a Caribbean restaurant here in Victoria! Tim, Trinity and I had our first rotis in two years since we moved from Toronto. They were delicious!
We did a lot of filming this week. I filmed two membership classes this week. One class traditional chinese medicine class for your central and governing channels. I also filmed a brain yoga class with many somatics movements and talked a lot about sensory motor amnesia.
In this vlog I show you how I roast almonds for our road trip.
Salt and Vinegar Almonds
Melissa´s Favourite Tamari Roasted Almond Recipe
This is a recipe that I have perfected to my taste over time. I kind of eye ball it and don´t really follow a recipe, but I made it up best as I could for all of you.
3 cups of almonds
2 tbsp of Braggs or Tamari
2 tbsp of olive oil
2 tbsp of sriracha
5 grinds of the salt grinder
5 grinds of the pepper grinder
Roast in the oven for 15 mins at 350 degrees

We finished up our week with a videographers meetup, where we geeked out on show and tell for gear. I spoil you with a walk-through Beacon Hill park and Lady Moss is definitely the highlight of the walk. We finish the vlog with a winding road through the forest, one of the many reasons why I love living in British Columbia so very much.
